I needed a replacement det of mower blades for my 42" mower. I use this mower for wet areas and mowing in areas too small for my large area zero turn mower. I have made an effort to improve my blade maintenance practices by keeping multiple sets of blades. For the 42" mower, I only need two sets since I don't change blade styles on this mower.The blades seem well built and durable. The thickness was comparable to the OEM blades. I did put a sharper edge on them before installing. Almost all new blades come without a sharp edge.Make sure this is the correct stye for your mower. You must need the star hole to use them. For the price, these are a good value.

I'm a couple 2 - acre cuts into these blades and I have no complaints. Installed on a 2012 MY Pony. Cuts like new! I replaced the entire deck last year because it's just such a good mower! So I treated it to another set of new blades this spring. Easy to replace with a mower jack and an electric impact wrench. I'll get this brand again because at the price it's better than resharpening. Sharp right out of the package!
These blades are good quality metal and paint. The size and center spline are accurate to the old blades and fit the deck well. The edge geometry is good and they cut well. Very happy with these blades.
A set of 42" MTD blades. A Six point star in the middle, which if you do not get the blade on right will will cause damage and a bad cut. The blades look to be the same as the factory blade. Probably made in the same place in China..lol The quality seam really heavy built. When I received these blades I was concerned about their weight as they are noticeably heavier than the stock blades. I installed them on my troy bilt pony and am very pleased that they cut far better than stock blades plus they throw grass away from the deck with no effort. I recommend them if you need blades for a 42" Troy Bilt Pony. Can install them without removing the deck.

Changed out the blades easily. They are sharp. I'd buy them again.
Sometimes the blades you have just can't be sharpened any more. These made for an excellent replacement that were a perfect fit and have held up well. Whether mulching or just a regular cut, sharp blades make the difference.

Have a cub cadet ZT1 42 inch that I got these 42 replace once.It's time for me to replace my blades, which is coming up soon.I haven't put em on yet, but the quality is really sturdy.They're super heavy heavy duty.The coating on em is a really nice coating.I've actually clanked them together a couple times with no scratches.That's important to me, because in florida don't get a lot of rust, which means the blade o stays sharp longer, the edges got a nice edge too.But you will depend on type of grass.You got, if you need it sharper, you can sharpen it.If you'd like it is sharpenable, but it fits great looks great.I did get under there and size it up.Make sure the bolt holds match and the locking plate in the middle matches.So fits on the cub cadet 42 ZT1go out and get you some
