perfect fit on my Craftsman. I had one wheel that wasn't engaging with the gear so you could hear the plastic just hitting and trying to spin but couldn't catch what I needed. Im glad I went this route instead of a repair place or buying a new mower. It was easy to install and I installed both just to make sure both front tires have the same treat and wear on them.I like to fix mowers as a side hobby and will be using these replacements again when needed on another project.High quality, good weight to it, so far it's been durable. Looking forward to mowing season just around the corner again
These replacement mower wheels are very well made and feel built to last a long, long time. Installation was simple, and they fit perfectly on my mower. They work exactly as needed and solved my problem right away. Great value and highly recommended!
The wheels fit our mower perfectly! The diameter is good for those of us who have to mow hills and their tread pattern is aggressive for a good grip when pushing the mower on an incline. Good wheels at a good price.
These wheels are exactly as described and fit my needs perfectly. They are good quality, look well - made, and easy to install.
Full transparency right up front: I ordered the incorrect part number for my specific mower, so I was unable to install these myself. I'll spare you the drama of my ordering mistake, but I didn't want to let that stop me from reviewing the build quality and sharing a critical finding regarding fitment and value.
The Fitment "Gotcha":I did some digging on the official Craftsman/MTD parts site using one of the model numbers listed here (583719501) and found no direct match. This likely explains the issue regarding the single 1 - star review I saw; compatibility lists can sometimes be optimistic. This gives me sympathy for that stray negative review—it was likely a buyer who trusted the seller's list blindly.
Wheel Replacement, 53 tooth Speed: My advice is practical: Do not rely solely on the model number list. Grab a tape measure and match the specific dimensions (8 - inch diameter, 1/2 inch bore, 53 teeth) to your existing wheel. It's possible the OEM website—where I searched their database to compare prices—had a flaw, but either way: as usual, measure twice, buy once.
Value & Materials:This is where these wheels really shine. I found the OEM replacement specs, and they list a single wheel for around $26.49. They tout "high impact polypropylene" and a specific "oil impregnated copper steel bushing." Comparing that price to this GICOOL 2 - pack, the savings are excellent. While I can't verify if the bushing metallurgy is exactly the same without cutting it open, the plastic wheel itself feels substantial—likely the same high - impact material as the OEM. For the price difference, getting two of these for less than the price of one OEM wheel is a no - brainer.
Visual Inspection and Traction:As someone who has handled plenty of hardware over the years, I can tell a lot just by holding a part. These feel tough, not brittle. The gear teeth—critical for front - wheel drive traction—are molded cleanly with no flash or defects. They look like they belong on a workhorse mower.
Installation:Looking at the setup, it's a straightforward job. If you generally use an impact driver and socket like I do, swapping these out takes about as long as a NASCAR pit stop.
Verdict:If you verify your specs (measure, don't just read!), these are an excellent, high - value alternative to the overpriced OEM versions. Verified buyers seem to agree, and after handling them, I do too.
These wheels fail after a couple of years because either 1) the gear teeth get worn down, or 2) the tire tread gets worn down. Either or both will cause the mower to go slow or no go at all. These fit 8" wheels which is the most common for push mowers and are easy to install by removing one bolt or nut.The wheels are mass produced in China, and they are all the same as you can tell by the pictures. So I just compare based on price and go with the lowest seller. has free returns and shipping which makes life so much easier.
These are going to work perfect for me to get my mower up and going again, the wheels it came with don't have enough traction anymore, because it's so old and basically wore down and I suspect because the previous owner kept it in full sun, the wheels just have extensive UV damage at this point.
Make sure you measure correctly, and check the listing for the dimensions. The internal white component does stick out inside beyond the treads a little bit, so you'll want to make sure you have enough axle space to accommodate, or space between the wheel well and the wheel for that. It's designed that way specifically for mowers to keep stuff from going between the tires and the mower blade guards, but you'll want to factor that into your consideration to make sure all the sizing lines up.
Otherwise if it doesn't, you still can replace the axles and get ones that are slightly longer And it will still work just fine. It's a pretty forgivable modification and adjustment with just common tools. It was not too hard to put on, it was harder to get the lawn mower lifted and the weight off of the wheel, more so than replacing them in the end.
I like the diameter of these, and mix going over roots so much easier, I increase the wheel size just a little bit and took the gamble that it would work, and it works so much better this way. It really is a tremendous improvement over the 6 - inch ones I had prior that would occasionally get caught up since the radius is only 3 in from the middle to the bottom, and a lot of these roots are bigger than that and required a lot more strength to push up and over and get enough momentum that made mowing much more laborious than necessary.
I think the depth of the traction grooves is excellent for the soft sand I have to deal with around my property, so it should be good in any other soil. Because soft sugar sand is probably the hardest one to get a mower through without it just digging in under its own weight. So other soil types should be much easier to go through.
This wheel is solid, they aren't inflatable tubes or anything like that which would be on a traditional bike. So for those who have not examined their wheels enough on their mower, you won't have to worry about any sort of patching or anything like that. You can just grab them, install them, and be on your way for a very long time.
All the material looks smooth and well molded so I suspect these will hold up for a long time and I'm very happy with them
These wheels are a perfect fit on our craftsman Briggs and Stratton gold 190cc front wheel drive lawnmower. Ours needed a 9/16 socket to remove the recessed wheel nut but no other tools where required. The mower went from push to self propelled in minutes, verifying the new parts functionality immediately after installation. The new wheels even have traction on pavement.See photos for a comparison between the old parts and these new wheels. Even the tread pattern is the same. And the new parts seemed to be of similar quality having a metal axle bushing. Time will tell how durable the new parts are but they seem sound.
- good quality - 8 inch front drive wheels fits craftsman or Husqvarna - has metal bushing inside wheel - easy to install - They spin freely and work well with the craftsman drive system
Perfect OEM - style replacement for my Craftsman 37044 22" 190cc Briggs & Stratton Self - Propelled EZ Lawn Mower. Replaced craftsman 194231X460 'Wheel & Tire Assembly, Front'. The axle uses a lock nut, so it may take some force to remove but this is a 10 - min job with a socket wrench. Great value to improve pulling traction.
This review is for the 532403111 Lawn Mower Front Drive Wheels, Replacement 583719501 194231X460 Mower Wheels for Craftsman Husqvarna Pack of 2.
Pros: Perfect fit for my 2010 Craftsman's Self - propelled lawn mower. Mine is front wheel drive and these are exact replacements at a fraction of the cost of the same locally. And you get (TWO) each!
My mower now effortlessly pulls itself through the yard. Excellent value, and quality for the price. This makes my mower function like new. Yes it is plastic, but so was my original wheels. It has 1 - 3/4" Width tread with a 1/2" bore and 8" diameter. Just look at the chart the seller provides to find your model number for fit.I certainly can recommend this pair of wheels.
Did not obtain these as replacement for my lawn mower. These will be repurposed for another project. If you are expecting 8" diameter tread, you'll be a bit put out. The diameter of these is more like 7.9". The thickness really is 1.75". The spindle hole has a steel liner pressed into it. The tread pattern is well defined and nicely molded. At $19 and change a pair these seem to be on par with their competitors or priced slightly lower.
Ordered these to replace the front ‘drive'wheels on my Craftsman self - propelled push mower and they are fantastic. I took some photos of my old wheels side - by - side with the new wheels and the sizing, width, axle dimensions, etc. are all identical. They were easy to install (although, they do not come with the washers – just the wheels) and they definitely breathed some new life into my ol'lawn mower. Very happy with them. 5 out of 5 stars. I hope this review his helpful. Thanks.
These wheels were a perfect fit for my Husqvarna push mower. Other than the color, they were identical to the originals. High quality and fit/finish were super.
I'm glad I finally got some replacement wheels. I thought these would be more difficult to install but it's just a single nut to remove and they slide right on. The teeth were completely ground off on my old wheels and so was all the tread so there was almost no self propelling action. These wheels for my craftsman mower perfectly and solved the problem I've been putting up with for years
